Bosch Oil Filter Cross Reference: 3300, 3323 and 3330 Interchange
Bosch 3323, 3330 and 3300 crossed to WIX, FRAM and K&N, plus the footnote that puts Bosch's 99% on a different filter.
A Bosch Premium number like 3323 or 3330 is a catalogue number, not a code: nothing in the digits reliably gives away thread, size or filter type. The reliable way across is WIX's lookup, which indexes Bosch numbers directly. It crosses the 3300 to WIX 51365, the 3323 to 51356 and the 3330 to 51348.
Bosch 3300, 3323 and 3330 Cross Reference
The WIX column comes from WIX's competitor lookup, which returns Bosch numbers by name. The FRAM column is the same lookup run in reverse, from the FRAM number, and the K&N column is from K&N's Bosch index, which lists more than 200 Bosch oil filter numbers.
| Bosch | WIX | FRAM | K&N |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3300 | 51365 | PH6607 | SO-1008 |
| 3323 | 51356, 57356 | PH7317 | SO-1010 |
| 3330 | 51348 | PH3614 | SO-1002 |
| 3311 | 51394 | PH4967 | SO-1003 |
| 3325 | 57145 | PH4386 | SO-1003 |
| 3500 | 51515 | PH8A | SO-3001 |
For the 3330, the SO-1002 is also what K&N returns for the WIX 51348 itself, so two manufacturers land on the same filter. For the 3323 WIX returns two parts, and run backwards from the PH7317 it returns a wider group of four, so the PH7317 is the right family rather than a one-to-one twin.
NAPA Gold numbers fall out of the WIX column, because NAPA Gold numbers are WIX numbers with the first digit dropped. The 3330 lands on NAPA Gold 1348 and the 3500 on NAPA Gold 1515.
What Bosch Lists These Filters For
Bosch's own part pages carry a vehicle lookup by make, and it gives each number a very different spread. These are the makes it returned for each part.
| Bosch | Thread | Makes Bosch lists |
|---|---|---|
| 3300 | M20x1.5 | Honda, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Toyota, Scion, Kia, Mazda, Suzuki, Ford, Mercury, Chevrolet, Saab, Opel, Smart, MG |
| 3323 | M20x1.5 | Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Eagle, Saturn |
| 3330 | 3/4-16 | Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Plymouth, Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Saturn, Geo, Mazda, Suzuki, Saab, VW, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover and others |
Make is not fitment. The 3300 and 3323 share a thread and a make list, but Bosch lists the 3300 at 2.93 in tall and the 3323 at 3.52 in, so an engine that takes one does not automatically take the other.
Type the Brand, Not Just the Number
Bosch's four digit numbers collide with other catalogues. WIX's lookup for "3330" returns the Bosch oil filter, a NAPA Gold 3330 that crosses to WIX 33330, and a Super Tech 3330 that crosses to WIX 46162, which are not oil filters at all.
Any lookup that takes a bare number will mix these up. Select Bosch as the brand, or add it to the search, before trusting a result.
The Rest of the Bosch Premium Range
Thread and height are Bosch's own figures from its part pages. The WIX column is again WIX's lookup.
| Bosch | WIX | Thread | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3310 | 51334 | M20x1.5 | 2.95 in |
| 3312 | 51334, 57092 | M20x1.5 | 2.95 in |
| 3322 | 57099 | 13/16-16 | 3.09 in |
| 3324 | 57082 | Cartridge | 3.52 in |
| 3326 | 57033 | Cartridge | 3.15 in |
| 3331 | 51040 | M18x1.5 | 3.36 in |
| 3332 | 51042 | 13/16-16 | 3.36 in |
| 3334 | 57060 | M22x1.5 | 3.34 in |
| 3400 | 51034 | 3/4-16 | 4.02 in |
| 3402 | 51085 | 3/4-16 | 3.75 in |
| 3410 | 51372, 57899 | M22x1.5 | 3.73 in |
| 3412 | 57021 | Cartridge | 3.11 in |
| 3421 | 51393 | 3/4-16 | 4.74 in |
| 3422 | 51516 | 3/4-16 | 4.74 in |
| 3423 | 51522 | 13/16-16 | 4.02 in |
| 3430 | 51036 | M18x1.5 | 4.74 in |
| 3500 | 51515 | 3/4-16 | 5.14 in |
| 3502 | 57502, 57045 | M22x1.5 | 4.08 in |
| 3510 | 51060 | 13/16-16 | 4.24 in |
| 3511 | 57202 | 13/16-16 | 5.22 in |
| 3520 | 51607, 57620 | 1-16 | 6.87 in |
WIX found no Bosch 3425. The 3972 crosses to WIX 57047, a Toyota cartridge, and Bosch's Premium page notes that the 3972 may look different from its photo.
Pairs That Look Identical but Are Not
Bosch lists the 3310 and 3312 with the same thread, height and diameter, and WIX crosses both to the 51334. The only difference on Bosch's pages is the relief valve: 20 to 25 psi on the 3310 and 12 to 15 psi on the 3312.
The 3421 and 3422 are the same story at 4.74 in tall, with 25 to 35 psi against 12 to 15. Here WIX does split them, into the 51393 and the 51516.
What the 3300, 3400 and 3500 Series Mean
Bosch does not explain its numbering anywhere I could find. On Bosch's own figures the hundreds digit loosely tracks can size: 33xx spin-ons run 2.93 to 3.52 in tall, 34xx spin-ons 3.73 to 4.74 in, and 35xx parts 4.08 in and up.
That is a pattern, not a rule. The 33xx series alone holds M20, M18, M22, 3/4-16 and 13/16-16 threads plus two cartridges, so the number tells you nothing you can install from.
D, ST and WS Prefixes
D is DistancePlus, Bosch's older high-capacity line. WIX crosses the D3300, D3323 and D3330 to exactly the same WIX parts as the plain 3300, 3323 and 3330, so the digits mean the same filter.
ST numbers such as ST3323 appear in K&N's index, but WIX's lookup returned nothing for the ST3323 and I found no Bosch document that explains the prefix. Treat an ST number by its digits and confirm against the vehicle.
72xxxWS numbers are Bosch Workshop filters, and their digits have nothing to do with Premium numbers. WIX crosses the 72161WS to 51348 like the 3330, the 72167WS to 57145 like the 3325, the 72143WS to 51516 like the 3422, and the 72102WS to 51515 like the 3500.
Which Bosch Oil Filter Lines Are Current
Bosch's US oil filter section lists two lines today, Premium and Workshop. DistancePlus has no page there. Ten-digit numbers such as 0 451 103 xxx and F 026 407 xxx are Bosch's European catalogue, which K&N's index also carries.
Where Bosch's 99% and 14 Grams Come From
Bosch's Premium page says the media holds up to 14 grams of dirt and traps 99% of particulates, with the footnote based on ISO 4548-12 at 20 microns on 3500. The 3500 is the largest can in the range, 5.14 in tall and 3.622 in across.

That is not the filter most people are crossing. The 3323's own page repeats "99% efficiency" with no micron size and no footnote, and Bosch publishes no capacity for it at all.
The scale matters for capacity. On Bosch's own dimensions the 3500's can holds roughly two and a half times the volume of a 3323's, and dirt capacity follows media area, so a 14 gram figure measured on the big can says little about the small one.
The Same Test Filter Shows Up Across Brands
The 3500 crosses to WIX 51515, FRAM PH8A and NAPA Gold 1515, and that can is a favourite test filter across the aftermarket. NAPA's 18 gram capacity claim was measured on its Gold 1515, and WIX's own footnote names the 51515 while FRAM's names the XG8A among its three test parts.
So when two brands both print 99% on the box of a small Honda filter, both figures may come from tests on the same large can. Neither tells you how the small filter itself performs.
Workshop Filters Quote a Coarser Test
Bosch's Workshop oil filter page claims 97.5% efficiency and 13 grams of capacity, "based on ISO 4548-12 at 40 microns on 3500". That is double the particle size of the Premium figure, and 3500 is a Premium number. WIX crosses the 3500 and the Workshop 72102WS to the same 51515.
Bosch's Spec Table Disagrees With Its Own Feature List
On the 3323 page the feature list promises a nitrile sealing gasket and synthetic-enhanced media. The specification table on the same page lists the gasket as silicone and the media as cellulose paper.
All ten Premium spec tables I checked for these two fields, from the 3300 to the 3500, carry the same silicone and cellulose paper entries. Read those two fields as a template rather than a measurement.
Bosch 3311 vs 3325: The Toyota Pair Charts Mix Up
Bosch lists the 3311 and the 3325 with identical figures: 3/4-16 thread, 2.677 in diameter, 3.52 in tall, 14 to 18 psi relief. K&N crosses both to the same SO-1003.
WIX splits them. The 3311 crosses to the 51394, which WIX lists at 75.7 mm tall for Corolla and Celica applications, and the 3325 crosses to the 57145, which is 86 mm tall and carries Toyota 90915-YZZJ2 and 90915-10004.
Two filters 10 mm apart in height cannot both be 3.52 in, so at least one of Bosch's entries is wrong. Run from the FRAM side, WIX ties the 3311 group to the PH4967 and the 3325 group to the PH4386.
Our own FRAM PH4386 cross reference listed the Bosch 3311 against the PH4386 until this research. It has been corrected to the 3325.
Do Bosch and WIX Agree on Size and Bypass?
Not exactly. These are Bosch's published figures next to the WIX part it crosses to, with WIX's bypass setting converted from bar.
| Bosch / WIX | Height, Bosch vs WIX | Bypass, Bosch vs WIX |
|---|---|---|
| 3300 / 51365 | 2.93 in vs 2.58 in | 14 to 18 psi vs 8 psi |
| 3323 / 51356 | 3.52 in vs 3.40 in | 14 to 18 psi vs 8 psi |
| 3330 / 51348 | 3.36 in vs 3.41 in | 12 to 15 psi vs 8 psi |
| 3325 / 57145 | 3.52 in vs 3.39 in | 14 to 18 psi vs 11 psi |
WIX publishes one bypass figure with no unit, 0.551 for the first three parts and 0.758 for the 57145, which read as bar give 8 and 11 psi. Bosch gives a range, and every Bosch range sits above the WIX figure.
Neither brand explains the gap. The crossed filters mount the same way, but where the bypass setting matters on your engine, the vehicle maker's own part number is the tiebreaker, not either aftermarket catalogue.
Who Makes Bosch Oil Filters?
Bosch does not say. The history is public up to a point: Bosch and MANN+HUMMEL owned Purolator Filters together from 2006, and MANN+HUMMEL bought Bosch out in April 2013, renaming the business MANN+HUMMEL Purolator Filters.
Owners who cut open US-made Bosch Premium filters read Purolator-format date codes on them. In one December 2025 thread on a 3323 cut open, members dated the filter to December 2019 and tied it to MANN+HUMMEL's Purolator plant, while a 2026 buyer reported Mexico as the country of origin on the can.
Who builds the Mexico-made filters is unconfirmed. No Bosch, Purolator or MANN+HUMMEL document I found names a supplier.
What Owners Report
Owners on Bob Is The Oil Guy have reported uneven quality on Mexico-built Bosch Premium filters since at least early 2024. In a January 2024 thread on the 3323, a Honda Element owner found metal flakes in the threads and a wire jammed under the anti-drainback valve, and another member found most louvers not punched through.
Other members in the same thread had run 3323s for years without a problem. Treat these as anecdotes from a small number of owners, not a defect rate.
The design may have changed again since. An owner who cut open a new 3312 in April 2026 found plastic mesh inside and outside the media and a bypass built into the end cap, which members said looked nothing like earlier Bosch filters.
FAQ
Is the Bosch 3323 the same as the FRAM PH7317?
They sit in the same interchange group. WIX crosses the Bosch 3323 to its 51356 and 57356, and the FRAM PH7317 to a wider set that includes both. K&N crosses the 3323 to its SO-1010. Confirm the thread and height for your engine before buying, since the group spans several sizes.
What does the Bosch 3330 cross to?
WIX 51348, FRAM PH3614, K&N SO-1002 and NAPA Gold 1348. K&N returns the same SO-1002 for the WIX 51348, and the WIX lookup run from the FRAM side returns the same 51348. Bosch lists it as a 3/4-16 spin-on, 3.36 in tall, for Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, GM and many other makes.
Is the Bosch 3300 the same as the 3323?
No. Both are M20x1.5 spin-ons, but Bosch lists the 3300 at 2.93 in tall and the 3323 at 3.52 in, and WIX crosses them to different parts, the 51365 and the 51356. Use the one listed for your engine; a shorter or taller can may not clear the mount.
Does Bosch still make DistancePlus filters?
Bosch's current oil filter section lists only the Premium and Workshop lines, and DistancePlus has no page there. DistancePlus numbers still cross cleanly, because WIX treats the D3300, D3323 and D3330 as the same filters as the plain 3300, 3323 and 3330.
Are Bosch oil filters made by Purolator?
Older US-made Bosch Premium filters carried Purolator-format date codes, according to owners who cut them open. Bosch sold its Purolator stake to MANN+HUMMEL in 2013, and recent cans list Mexico as the country of origin. Bosch has not named its current supplier.
Where to Start
Find your Bosch number in the charts above and read across to the WIX part. Then check that WIX part's height and thread against the filter on your engine, and where the two catalogues disagree, let the vehicle maker's OE number decide.
