12811 Oil Filter Cross Reference: Fram 12811 Equivalents
The FRAM 12811 is a cartridge element for the Hyundai and Kia 2.5L four-cylinder from 2020 on, sold as the CH12811, XG12811, TG12811 and FE12811. It replaces Hyundai 26350-2S000, and its equivalents are WIX WL10514, Mobil 1 M1C-158A, Purolator PL11752, Baldwin P40164, K&N HP-7064 and Luber-finer P1086.
12811 Equivalents by Brand
FRAM's own 12811 pages carry no competitor list, so I built this one by searching each number in WIX's and Baldwin's lookups. Every row below lands on the same Hyundai 26350-2S000 element.
| Brand | 12811 equivalent | Confirmed by |
|---|---|---|
| Hyundai, Kia | 26350-2S000, now 26350-2S001 | WIX, Baldwin, K&N |
| WIX | WL10514 | WIX, Baldwin |
| Mobil 1 | M1C-158A | WIX |
| Purolator | PL11752 | WIX, Baldwin |
| Baldwin | P40164 | WIX, Baldwin |
| K&N | HP-7064 | WIX, K&N |
| Luber-finer | P1086 | WIX, Baldwin |
| Premium Guard | PG99527EX | WIX |
Baldwin's search sends the FRAM CH12811, the Hyundai and Kia 26350-2S000 and the WIX WL10514 to its P40164, which is the link that ties FRAM's number to Hyundai's. WIX returns the WL10514 for the Hyundai number, the Mobil 1, the Purolator and the K&N.
WIX's Lookup Does Not Know the CH12811
Search WIX for the FRAM CH12811 and WIX calls it a valid competitor number with no replacement. Search the XG12811, TG12811 or FE12811 instead and it returns the WL10514 for all three.
So if the CH12811 dead-ends, cross through one of FRAM's other three lines, or through Hyundai's 26350-2S000. Hyundai's dealer catalogue now lists the 2S000 as replaced by the 26350-2S001, and WIX sends both to the WL10514.
What the 12811 Fits
FRAM's application list for the CH12811 is short and covers one engine family, the 2.5L four, from 2020 on:
- Hyundai Sonata 2020 to 2026, Santa Fe 2021 to 2027, Tucson 2022 to 2026, Santa Cruz 2022 to 2027 and Palisade 2026 to 2027
- Kia K5 2021 to 2027, Sorento 2021 to 2026, Sportage 2023 to 2027 and Telluride 2027
FRAM lists these by displacement only, as "2.5L", so its list does not separate the naturally aspirated engine from the 2.5 turbo. Baldwin's P40164 page lists the Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Sonata and Tucson and the Kia K5, Sorento and Sportage.
12811 Size and Specs
FRAM publishes no dimensions for any of its four 12811 parts. Each page's specification table holds one line, "Performance: No Grade", so the sizes come from the equivalents.
| Spec | WIX WL10514 | Baldwin P40164 |
|---|---|---|
| Height | 3.34 in (85 mm) | 85.7 mm |
| Outside diameter | 2.559 in (65 mm) | 65.1 mm |
| Inside diameter | 1.028 in (26 mm) | 26.2 mm |
| In the box | Housing O-ring, washer, drain tool | Gasket, metal washer, drain plug |
WIX lists the WL10514 as a metal-free cellulose cartridge with an 80 by 73 mm packed O-ring for the housing cap and a small 20 by 14 mm washer. WIX publishes no micron or efficiency figure for it.
K&N's HP-7064 page agrees on the 86 mm height but lists a 1.5 in outside diameter, which does not match the 65 mm that WIX and Baldwin both give. Its only cross references are the Hyundai 26350-2S000 and a Wesfil WCO272.
Where the Efficiency Claims Come From
FRAM's XG12811 page claims 99%+ filtration efficiency, and its footnote names the parts tested: the XG8A, XG3387A and XG4967. All three are spin-ons. The TG12811 and FE12811 pages carry the same footnote with TG and FE numbers.
Mobil 1 does the same. Its M1C-158A page claims up to 99% at 30 microns and a burst strength of 9 times operating pressure, footnoted to tests on the M1-113A, which is a spin-on can. A cartridge has no can to burst.
The 12811 vs the 12812 and 26350-2M000
One digit away, the FRAM CH12812 is a different element for Hyundai and Kia's 2.0L. FRAM's CH12812 list covers the 2020 to 2026 Sonata 2.0L, the Elantra and Kona 2.0L, the Kia K4 and the 2.0L Sportage. WIX crosses it to the WL10521.

WIX's WL10521 is 63 mm tall, against 85 mm for the 12811, yet it shares the 65 mm diameter, the 26 mm center hole and the same 80 by 73 mm cap O-ring. A third Hyundai element, the 26350-2M000, crosses to WIX's WL10473, which WIX lists at 100 mm on a similar 80 by 73 mm O-ring.
Three elements, one diameter, one cap O-ring size and three heights. Nothing at the cap tells them apart, so check the height or the part number before the cap goes back on. The Kia Sportage lists both the 12811 and the 12812, depending on whether it has the 2.5L or the 2.0L.
Owner Notes on This Element
When the 2.5L was new, there was nothing to cross it to. In a March 2021 Bob Is the Oil Guy thread on a 2021 Santa Fe, owners found the 26350-2S000 missing from most aftermarket catalogues, and the one firm cross they named was the Premium Guard PG99527EX. The lookups above have caught up since.
The housing drain plug is the part owners argue about. In a 2025 thread on a 2.0 Smartstream Kona, owners reported a redesigned plug in the Hyundai filter kit and said the old one could drop into the new element unnoticed. That thread covers the 2.0L, not this filter. Owner forums also cite a Hyundai bulletin, 22-EM-003H, on oil filter service, but I could not open a copy of it.
How to Cross Reference a 12811
- Confirm the engine is the 2.5L. The 2.0L takes the CH12812, which looks the same and is 22 mm shorter.
- Use WIX WL10514, Mobil 1 M1C-158A, Purolator PL11752, Baldwin P40164, K&N HP-7064 or Luber-finer P1086. Each lands on the Hyundai 26350-2S000.
- If a lookup rejects CH12811, search XG12811 or Hyundai 26350-2S000 instead. WIX recognises both.
- Check what is in the box. WIX packs a drain tool and washer, Baldwin a drain plug, and the housing O-ring has to be replaced with the element.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the WIX equivalent of the FRAM 12811? The WIX WL10514. WIX's lookup returns it for the FRAM XG12811, TG12811 and FE12811 and for Hyundai's 26350-2S000, though not for the CH12811 itself. WIX lists it as an 85 mm cellulose cartridge, 65 mm across, packed with a housing O-ring, a washer and a drain tool.
What Mobil 1 filter replaces the 12811? The Mobil 1 M1C-158A. WIX sends it to the same WL10514 as Hyundai's 26350-2S000, and Mobil names the 2022 Hyundai Tucson as its most common application. Mobil's efficiency and burst claims for it are footnoted to a spin-on, not to this cartridge.
Is the FRAM CH12811 the same as Hyundai 26350-2S000? They cross to the same parts. Baldwin's search sends both the CH12811 and the 26350-2S000 to its P40164, and FRAM's application list matches Hyundai's 2.5L models. Hyundai now supplies the 2S000 as the 26350-2S001, which WIX also crosses to the WL10514.
Can I use a CH12812 instead of a CH12811? No. The CH12812 is the 2.0L element. WIX lists its equivalent at 63 mm tall against 85 mm for the 12811, with the same diameter, center hole and cap O-ring size, so the two are easy to mix up and only the height and part number tell them apart.
What to Do Next
If your Hyundai or Kia has the 2.5L, any element in the first table fits. Before you buy, check the engine on the door sticker or the owner's manual, because one digit separates the 2.5L's 12811 from the 2.0L's 12812, and see the cartridge filter guide for how the housing and O-ring go back together.
