Denso Oil Filter Cross Reference (and Why Denso Publishes No Chart)
Denso publishes no downloadable oil filter cross-reference chart, but its online part finder has a cross-reference search that accepts FRAM, Purolator, WIX and many Toyota, Honda and Nissan numbers. It does not recognise Motorcraft, ACDelco or Mopar numbers, and it merges filters of different heights, so cross from the OE number and check the height.
Denso Has a Cross-Reference Search, Not a Chart
Denso's catalogue lives in a part finder rather than a document. Its cross-reference mode takes a competitor number and returns the Denso part: a search for FRAM's PH4967 returns the 150-2000.
Every Denso part page then carries its own interchange list. The 150-2000 page lists four FRAM numbers, four Purolator, four WIX and dozens of Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu and GM numbers, with the vehicles it fits underneath.
What Denso does not offer is a chart. The only downloads on its oil filter page are a one-page filter product sheet and a general product overview, so there is no PDF to print and no table to check a number against offline.
Numbers Denso's Search Does Not Recognise
The search only knows the brands that appear in Denso's interchange lists. FRAM, Purolator and WIX numbers work, and so do many carmaker numbers, but the common retail numbers of the carmakers' own parts brands do not.
| Number searched | Denso's answer |
|---|---|
| Motorcraft FL-820S, FL-910S, FL500S | No parts found |
| ACDelco PF48, PF63, PF64 | No parts found |
| Mopar MO-899 | No parts found |
| Toyota 90915-YZZD4, 90915-YZZN1 | No parts found |
| Subaru 15208AA15A | No parts found |
| Honda 15400-PLM-A02 | 150-2006 |
| Toyota 90915-YZZF1, 04152-YZZA1 | 150-2000, 150-3021 |
| Nissan 15208-65F0E, 15208-9E01A | 150-2004, 150-2006 |
A blank result does not mean Denso has no filter for that engine. It means the search needs a number Denso has filed, usually the FRAM or WIX equivalent or the carmaker's engineering number.
Denso Oil Filter Equivalents for Common Numbers
These are Denso's own search answers, with the height from Denso's part page and the part WIX's lookup crosses that Denso number to. Denso lists heights and gasket sizes but not thread or can diameter, so the WIX column is the quickest way to pin the physical can.

| FRAM PH8A | 150-2062 | 94 mm | 57899 |
| FRAM PH2 | 150-2074 | 96 mm | 57899 |
The 150-2006 is Denso's Honda filter, and its interchange list names the 15400-PLM-A02 alongside the 15400-RTA-003, RTA-004 and RAF-T01 that Honda has used for the same application. The 150-2021's only carmaker numbers are Ford's, starting with Ford AA5Z-6714-A, and its vehicle list is Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda.
Cartridge Filters
Denso's 150-3 numbers are cartridge elements, and Denso lists the ones here with no anti-drainback valve and no bypass valve, since on a cartridge system those live in the housing.
| You have | Denso answer | Denso height | WIX crosses it to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota 04152-YZZA1, 04152-31090 | 150-3021 | 67 mm | 57047 |
| Toyota 04152-YZZA5, 04152-31080 | 150-3020 | 81 mm | 57173 (Denso's list) |
| Toyota 04152-YZZA6 | 150-3024 | Not checked | 57064 |
One FRAM Number, Two Denso Cartridges
Denso's interchange lists are not one-to-one. FRAM's CH9972 appears on both the 150-3021 and the 150-3020, two Toyota cartridges that share an 80 by 87 mm gasket but differ by 14 mm in height.

The 150-3021 is the 67 mm element Denso lists for the Camry, Avalon, RAV4, Highlander and Sienna of the late 2000s through 2017, and for the 2016 to 2023 Tacoma. The 150-3020 is the 81 mm element for the 2010 to 2017 4Runner, 2010 to 2014 FJ Cruiser, 2011 to 2014 Tundra and the Lexus GX, IS, GS and LS. Search Denso for CH9972 and it returns the taller 150-3020; search for Toyota's 04152-YZZA1 and it returns the 150-3021.
Denso's own service bulletin shows why the height matters. A 2007 Camry with the 2GR-FE V6 set a P0015 camshaft timing code after an oil change because the wrong cartridge had been installed and was crushed, which Denso says may have restricted the oil pressure that controls the variable valve timing.
The same overlap runs through the spin-ons. FRAM's PH4386 appears on both the 75 mm 150-2000 and the 85 mm 150-2001, and FRAM's PH3593A appears on the 65 mm 150-2002, the 85 mm 150-2003 and the 75 mm 150-2043.
Where Denso's Search and WIX Disagree
WIX crosses each Denso number to one WIX part, which makes it a useful check on Denso's own search. Three of Denso's answers point at a different Denso part from the one WIX matches to that size.
- FRAM PH4386: Denso's search returns the 75 mm 150-2000. WIX crosses the 85 mm 150-2001 to its 57145, which is WIX's PH4386 can, and the 150-2000 to its 51394, the shorter PH4967 can.
- WIX 51348: Denso's search returns the 150-2001, but WIX crosses the 150-2010 to 51348.
- WIX 57356: Denso's search returns the 150-2003, but WIX crosses the 150-2006 to 57356 and the 150-2003 to its 57055.
The PH8A is a different kind of gap. Denso's answer is the 94 mm 150-2062, whose interchange list also names the much shorter FRAM PH16, while WIX's own PH8A match is its 132 mm 51515.
What Denso Oil Filter Numbers Mean
Denso's oil filter numbers start with 150. The 150-2 numbers are listed on Denso's part pages as cans, meaning spin-on filters, and the 150-3 numbers as elements, meaning cartridges.
Denso uses other prefixes for its other filters, such as 143 for engine air filters. Older 150-1 numbers that owners mentioned a decade ago, such as the 150-1003, now return "No part found" in Denso's catalogue.
What Denso Publishes About Its Oil Filters
Each Denso part page gives the height, the gasket inside and outside diameter, the media material, and whether the filter has an anti-drainback valve and a bypass valve. Every page checked lists the media as paper.
It does not give the thread size, the can diameter, the bypass opening pressure, a micron rating or an efficiency figure. Denso's filter product sheet does print "High filtration efficiency (>97%)", but that line sits in the air filter column; the oil filter column lists only the O-ring, the steel case and the torque-stopper design.
The oil filter product page describes dual-layer media, a silicone anti-drainback valve, a pre-lubricated moulded O-ring and a "Torque Stopper" case meant to prevent under- and over-tightening. None of those claims carries a number.
Does Denso Make Toyota's Factory Oil Filters?
Denso's oil filter page calls the company one of the world's premier OE oil filter suppliers, but it names no carmaker. The dozens of Toyota and Lexus numbers in its interchange lists show which Toyota parts Denso's filters replace, not who built the Toyota ones.
Owners on enthusiast forums draw a line between the two. In a 2014 Bob Is the Oil Guy thread, members described Toyota-branded filters as endcapless with a dark valve and Denso First Time Fit filters as having metal end caps and a silicone valve, and reported the First Time Fit boxes as made in Thailand.
What Owners Report About Denso Oil Filters
Owners generally rate the build and complain about the missing data. These are individual reports, not a sample.
- Country of origin has moved. Owners reported Thailand in 2014 and China in 2015 and again in 2024, and in a January 2024 thread members noted recent boxes say China while the can itself carries no country.
- The valve does not always match the box. A December 2015 owner reported a black anti-drainback valve in a filter Denso describes as silicone, and packaging that did not match the website photos.
- Construction is rated well. A 150-2021 cut open in February 2024 after 5,000 miles on a Jeep Gladiator 3.6 with an oil filter adapter drew praise for its tight pleats, while replies pointed out that Denso publishes no efficiency rating to judge it by.
How to Cross Reference a Denso Oil Filter
- Start from the carmaker's number where you have one, since Denso's search recognises many Toyota, Honda and Nissan numbers and lists them on its part pages.
- For a Motorcraft, ACDelco or Mopar number, search the FRAM or WIX equivalent instead, because Denso's search returns nothing for those brands.
- Open the Denso part page and compare its height and gasket size with the old filter before buying.
- For a Toyota cartridge, match the 04152 number, not a FRAM CH number, which Denso files against more than one height.
- Check WIX's lookup with the Denso number as a second opinion when the search answer and the old filter do not agree.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Denso have an oil filter cross reference chart? No printed or PDF chart. Denso's online part finder has a cross-reference search that accepts FRAM, Purolator, WIX and many Toyota, Honda and Nissan numbers, and each part page lists its interchange numbers. Motorcraft, ACDelco and Mopar numbers return no result.
What is the Denso equivalent of a FRAM PH4967? The 150-2000. Denso's search returns it for the PH4967 and for Toyota's 90915-YZZF1, Denso lists it at 75 mm tall with a 55 by 63 mm gasket, and WIX crosses it to its 51394. Check the height if your old filter is a PH4386, which is about 10 mm taller.
What Denso oil filter fits a Honda? The 150-2006 for most Honda and Acura engines. Denso's search returns it for the 15400-PLM-A02, and its interchange list also names the 15400-RTA-003, RTA-004 and RAF-T01. Denso lists it at 85 mm tall, and WIX crosses it to its 57356.
Who makes Denso oil filters? Denso does not say. Its oil filter page calls Denso a premier OE oil filter supplier without naming a factory or a carmaker, and owners have reported Denso First Time Fit boxes made in Thailand in 2014 and in China since about 2015.
What to Do Next
Find the number on the old filter or in the owner's manual, preferably the carmaker's own part number. Run it through Denso's cross-reference search, open the part page it returns, and hold the old filter against the listed height and gasket size before you fit it.
